On the Road Again

Hello, Hello again!

July is proving to be a busy month for this chickadee.

A last minute business trip last week, has lead to another week long trip starting tomorrow.

That's right, folks.  This time tomorrow I will be in Seattle, and quite computerless.

I just wanted to drop in and and let you know that I have scheduled posts throughout the week despite my absence.

Howdy Ho Neighbors!

Am I the only one finding it difficult to blog on these long summer days?

It seems that I haven't gotten anything done, and I don't think I've ventured down to the craft cave all week--the horror!

Despite my lack of craftiness, I have received some very exciting scrappy news this week.

  (drum roll please)

I have been chosen to be a Guest Designer at Free Hand Scraps for the month of September, and I am eagerly awaiting my package!!  Let me tell yah--You are seriously missing out if you haven't checked out their monthly kits.  Elaine puts some bomb ensembles  together over there, and the gallery is Uh-mazing!

Also....tonight I learned that I won some Blog Candy over at Jeni Bowlin.  Awww yeeeeah, all the new CHA Holiday papers are headed my way.

To celebrate my scrappy good luck, and the fact that I met Sir Mix A Lot this weekend, I thought I share a layout.

This is another layout I did for my good friend's Wedding Album.  She has been pestering me for years, and I've just now completed a few pages.

Going Way Too Fast, Racing With the Sun

Oh yah, did I forget to mention that I was headed to Cali?

Or that it was my Birthday?

My bad.

I arrived back home late last night after the looooongest drive up the coast EVER.

Never again HWY 101.  Never again.

I did, however,  arrive at my home town around 9:45 Thursday night to hear the Tinyman say my name for the first time.

"Tistin"

That alone, pretty much made the drive worth it.

I know that I've shared the sneaks of these, but thought I better show the full the review of some of my projects for Your Scrapbook Stash.  I still have tons of goodies left to play with, and intend to get my scrap on, as soon as I get my craft cave situated.   Don't forget about the July promotion going on all month long at the YSS store.  Just enter "JULY20" at checkout to receive 20% of your ENTIRE order....now that is a scrappy deal!

Happy Fourth of July everyone!

It's a gorgeous day here in PDX, and I'm thinking I might venture out beyond my craft cave.  Rumor has it, we may be enjoying some fireworks later on with some fine folks from the Citizen's Band.  I'm hoping whatever we choose  tops our early morning patriotic viewing of Team America World Police.  FYI: This film is just as disturbing as it was ten years ago, and almost as inappropriate as watching Bad Santa on Christmas morning or Bambi before hunting season.

But, before I leave, I wanted to share a few more projects for Your Scrapbook Stash. 

You Can Fly

I'm in love with these Sugar Picks from Jillibean Soup.  I got them in my YSS order, and have already used up every last one.  I'm pretty sure I need them in every shape and color.

Sew Sweet

I pop-dotted the banner on this, and layered another banner shape of contrasting color underneath.  I'm thinking I will definitely be doing this again in the future, as I really like the subtle dimension this technique adds.

And just because I can, here is another sneak of a layout I created for YSS.

Kitchen Sink Fish & Farmer Johns

That has to be the most random blog post title ever.

I've been crafting up a storm today with all the fun stuff I received from Your Scrapbook Stash, so I thought I better blog some of my older layouts lying in my finished pile first.

Of course they are the of the Tinyman...have I mentioned that I've started my fourth scrapbook just of him?  It's ridiculous.

Who is that little Fishy in my Sink?

I miss the days when Tinyman still fit in the kitchen sink.

 Tried my hand at some faux stitching below, and am happy with how it turned out...it's sooo much faster than an actual backstitch.

I also used up these Making Memories fish buttons that I've had FOREVER....we're talking at least 2004 yo.  Mad props to me.

Farmer Johns

Overalls are the threads of choice for this Tinyman.  Hims tiny little waist has a hard time holding regular pants up...I wish I had that problem.

I'm a Stash Girl!!

And no, I'm not referring to a mustache!

As some of you already know, today is the official start of my design team term, and I've pretty much been walking around on cloud nine.

I received my first goodie box from Your Scrapbook Stash earlier this week, and I will have lots of new projects and tutorials to post in the coming month.

I'm super excited be a part of such a talented team, and would like to introduce you to the ladies :)

I'm not the mushy type.

I'm not a L-Bomb dropper,

and I'm often at a loss for words when it comes to matters of the heart.

It is where words fail me, that scrapbooking steps in.

 

It is often unnerving how much we are alike, and that is why I call her my Moon Sister.

I made this for her.

She has been going through some tough times, and it pains me to think of her many sleepless nights and the e.n.d.l.e.s.s  waiting.

My heart aches  for the load she is carrying.

I wish that I wasn't  so far away, but I know her husband Vampire Bill  is taking good care of her.

 

 I guess this was just a reminder.

Keep your chin up brave girl.

Boots!

I wanted to share my latest contribution to the summer treasure hunt challenges going on over at Tally Scrapper.  The layout  marks my third  consecutive week of participation, and possibly a new record.

This was a musical challenge

I really layered on some of my stash on this one.

I've been rocking the #$?@ out of These Boots Were Made for Walking since 2001.
